Canon ink cartridges are not cheap and I had a problem when I tried to use generic ink cartridges with my older Canon - so far have not needed to use replacement cartridges. Setup was easy and so far it functions well - albeit it is not as fast as a laser printer. This Canon printer has some advantages over my old Mp480 which was more expensive at the time I bought it - the paper tray is easier to use as it is in front - the older one had it at the back and the paper sometimes jammed as it had to be inserted down on ther back tray and slipped at times.
I bought the same model for half the price from an Amazon online dealer and it came within a week.
My older Canon all-in-one failed after 3 years - called Canon and was told that the error that came up indicated a hardware problem - They offered me the Pixma MG120 as a Canon loyalist (I have a Canon video camera and have always used Canon products) for $70.
